Data Day

Data Day

Today in Design Technology 6, we had the trial and data collection day.  The kids were tasked with choosing a material in the room to try and pick up with their Prototype 1s.  Then the kids had to document the data in a Google Sheet for later analysis and reflection.  These kids did it flawlessly. Kids these days are truly wired differently than when I was a kid. They just get this kind of stuff and really enjoy it.  I’m wondering why more subjects doing use this approach (e.g. English, Social).  The kids would love to have something tactile to connect to their learning.

One of the teams analyzing their table and trying to make it into a meaningful visualization.

Honestly, teaching Design Tech has changed the way I will teach any subject from here on out.

Another team entering their data and trying to make sense of it.
